Just when she had given up struggling, Darby heard the door open and Miss Paris walked in backwards with her hands up.  "Think about what you are doing!", Miss Paris cried.  The man with the gun just laughed.  Darby didn't know his name, but she knew the man had been fired by Miss Paris about the time Darby started working at the company.  The man now worked at another real estate firm.  Realizing that she had to explain why Darby was bound and gagged, Miss Paris started telling the man a made-up story.  The man didn't care. He told Miss Paris to shut up, which she did.
